In Loisaba’s surrounding communities, Female Genital Mutilation – a procedure that endangers the lives of many girls in the community – is done as a rite of passage for women. Loisaba aims to increase awareness and understanding of the dangers of the practise by running training programmes for community members, and an alternative rite of passage for the girls.
