SATUBO has, since its inception, empowered many women by facilitating income streams while preserving cultural traditions and skills. This offers them a chance for financial independence, and by integrating women for three different cultural groups (Samburu, Turkana and Borana), promotes tribal unity and positive communication. Now, Segera and the ZEITZ foundation have also set up the SATUBO kindergarten, meaning women can continue their entrepreneuring endeavours, safe in the knowledge that their children are happily taken care of right next door.
